If you're a fishing enthusiast you'll be spoilt for choice in the Jura mountains: alone or with an instructor, beginner or improver, young or not-so-young, lakes and rivers, fly-fishing, dead bait, live bait...As you walk the rivers of the Jura you will find yourself in an enchanting world of incredibly clear mountain waters. 2,100 kilometres of rivers, 6,500 acres of mountain lakes filled with whitefish – the Jura mountains are a fisherman's paradise.
You can obtain a fishing licence from one of the Jura's Associations for Fishing and the Protection of the Aquatic Environment (AAPPMA), so that you can enjoy your hobby during your holiday.
Please remember to respect the regulations regarding minimum sizes, number of fish caught and fishing season dates. If you would like to fish from a boat, you must obtain a boat fishing permit, available free-of-charge from the Jura Fishing Federation, and a fishing logbook.
